This page explains how Addestra Sdn Bhd (“Addestra”, “we”) handles personal data collected through addestra.com, a lean, AI-native studio and lab for education and learning technology. We follow the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

What we collect

We collect personal data in three ways:

When you subscribe to the newsletter. If you enter your email address to subscribe, we store that email address so we can send you the newsletter. We also record which part of the site you subscribed from and a one-way hashed (irreversible) form of your IP address, which we use only to guard the form against spam and abuse. We don’t ask for your name or anything else, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

When you email us. If you write to hello@addestra.com or careers@addestra.com, we receive whatever you send — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

When you read the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which articles are read, roughly which country visitors come from, and what kind of device they use. This sets cookies in your browser and shares usage data with Google; we use it in aggregate to decide what to publish, not to identify you personally. See “Cookies and analytics” below. Separately, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and operations. These are retained for a short period.

Your email address and the details above are stored securely with the service providers we use to run the site and its newsletter.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to measure how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets cookies and collects usage data through your browser. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with a browser add-on, without affecting how the site works. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t track you across other websites.

Why we use it

We use your email address only to send you the newsletter you subscribed to, and to reply if you contacted us. We use analytics only in aggregate, to understand what’s worth publishing. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. We keep email correspondence for as long as it remains useful for the conversation or for legitimate business records, and we delete it when it no longer is. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, withdraw any consent you previously gave (including unsubscribing from the newsletter), or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@addestra.com.

Children

This site is not directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children through this site. Where Addestra products are designed for school-age learners, those products have their own privacy notices and parental consent flows.

Updates to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date above. For material changes, we’ll do our best to flag them on the site.
